Urs Rothmayr

Urs Rothmayr is a seasoned startup investor, serial entrepreneur, and innovation strategist based in Barcelona. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of COREangels Barcelona, a hands-on angel fund supporting early-stage startups in Spain, and Firstech Ventures, a €40M European venture capital fund backing transformative B2B tech in fintech, insurtech, and cybersecurity.

Urs is a graduate of the COREangels Angel Fund Launchpad program, which equips emerging fund leaders with the tools and strategies to successfully launch and manage professional angel funds. Shortly after graduating, he launched and scaled COREangels Barcelona into one of the most active groups in the network, with a portfolio of 21 startups.

He is also one of the co-creators of Angel Investors Hub, a global educational platform for new and experienced angels. Alongside Cintia Mano, Ela Zohrevandi, Jorge Martínez-Arroyo, and Dr. David Griesbach, he helped build Angel Investors Hub to foster accessible, high-quality learning for angel investors worldwide.

Previously, Urs spent over a decade leading the Founder Institute chapters in Barcelona and Andalusia, helping early-stage entrepreneurs move from idea to launch. He continues to mentor founders and support global startup scaling, with a strong focus on value beyond capital.
